Visiting a new dentist for the first time can feel a little awkward, but at Affordable Dental East, we’ll make it a pleasant and stress-free experience.
What to Expect at Your First Dental Visit
Your first appointment depends on what brings you in:
- For a Routine Exam and Cleaning — You'll start with our dental hygienist for a thorough cleaning, then meet with Dr. Lund for a full exam. He will discuss any findings with you and answer all your questions.
- For Dental Emergencies or Specific Problems — If you're in pain or have a specific dental issue, you will see Dr. Lund right away. He'll focus on relieving your pain and addressing the issue.
Can I Get My Cleaning on the First Visit?
In most cases, yes. However, if our hygienist finds that you have gum disease, they may schedule you for a more in-depth cleaning at a different time. We don’t perform cleanings with emergency exams because our priority is solving your immediate problem first.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
We encourage you to fill out your new patient forms online to save time when you arrive. If you can't, please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete them.
- Photo ID (driver's license or state ID)
- Insurance card (if you have dental insurance)
- List of any medications you're currently taking
- Your dental records or x-rays (if available)
Straight Talk About Cost and Insurance
If Dr. Lund finds something that needs treatment, we'll give you a written estimate before any work begins.
We accept most insurances, but it’s always best to call and check with us first. If you’re uninsured or need help covering out-of-pocket costs, we also offer financing through Cherry.
