Who are clear aligners for?

Clear aligners work well for many, but there are certain factors that contribute to more successful treatment.

Ideal Clear Aligners Candidates

You are a good candidate if:

You're an adult of any age; there's no upper age limit for straightening teeth.
You're a responsible teen who can follow treatment guidelines consistently.
You have healthy teeth and gums with no active decay or gum disease.
You have no significant dental work, like multiple crowns or bridges. Extensive restorations can prevent aligners from fitting properly and may prevent them from moving as planned.
You have mild to moderate orthodontic issues like crooked teeth, gaps, minor bite problems, or slightly rotated teeth.
You can commit to wearing aligners 22 hours daily, removing them only for eating, drinking, and oral hygiene.
You're a non-smoker. Smoking discolors the clear aligners and increases the risk of gum disease and other oral health problems during treatment.

Getting Started with Clear Aligners

Dr. Lund and our dental team will answer all your questions and guide you through every step. We will be upfront with you about pricing and what insurance covers.

At your initial evaluation, we scan your teeth (no goopy impressions), map out tooth movements in 3-D, and even show you a preview of how your new smile will look. You’ll leave us with a clear plan that fits your budget and timeline.

Wearing Your Clear Aligners

For the fastest results, wear your trays at least 20–22 hours daily. Remove them only to eat, drink anything but water, and brush and floss.

We commonly recommend that patients switch to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks. You’ll have short check-ins every six to eight weeks to get your new aligners and make sure your treatment is on track.
